NEW YORK, NY — Peter Kozinski, former director of the RoadX program at the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), has joined WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, as a principal in its connected and automated vehicles (C/AV) practice.
Kozinski will be based in the firm’s Denver, Colorado office and will support public and private clients in preparing their systems and business practices for the inevitability of connected and autonomous vehicles. Kozinski’s passion for connected and autonomous vehicles as well as other forms of advanced mobility comes from a strong belief in the potential for the technology to save lives and advance social and economic prosperity for all.
During his near 20-year career at CDOT, Kozinski served in roles ranging from managing major projects like I-70 Central and the I-70 Mountain Corridor, to the development of Context Sensitive Solutions guidance and Colorado’s first proposed vegetated wildlife overpass.
“Peter’s experience integrating emerging technologies into the transportation system –including planning, design and construction – will greatly benefit our business, as will his perspectives on strategy and planning,” said John D. Porcari, president of advisory services at WSP.
Prior to joining the CDOT, Kozinski worked in the private sector and has a master of science and a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Colorado State University. He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Colorado and currently holds memberships with a several professional organizations. Outside of work, Kozinski is an assistant softball coach and volunteers on the ski mountains of Colorado.
WSP currently advises transportation agencies across the U.S. on the development and implementation of infrastructure and policies to proactively plan for connected and automated vehicles of the future.
