DENVER, CO — Tracy LaForest has been named aviation project manager in the Denver office of WSP USA, formerly WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.
In his new position, Mr. LaForest will serve as project manager for the concourse B east expansion at Denver International Airport (DIA). He will coordinate activities with engineers, architects, and general contractors, and will help determine the program schedule, construction logistics, design standards and specifications.
WSP is managing the DIA project, which entails the expansion of the airport’s existing three concourses to meet existing and forecasted demand from air carriers serving the Denver market, including additional gates, concessions and support facilities. WSP acts on behalf of the client as part of the program management team on multiple concurrent concourse expansion projects. This includes hiring and managing designers and contractors to execute work that could exceed $1.5 billion. Additional responsibilities will include coordination with stakeholders, maintaining schedule and budget, and minimizing impact to ongoing airport operations.
Mr. LaForest has more than two decades of construction industry experience, much of it involving health care and aviation projects. Prior to joining WSP, he was project manager with LS Gallegos & Associates in Englewood, Colorado, a provider of program and project management advisory services to federal, state, and local government entities. He previously served as a project manager at DIA for Sturgeon Electric. He volunteers time supporting and assisting his son’s high school lacrosse team and his daughter’s volleyball club.
