ORANGE, CA — Steven Yoshizumi will manage complex civil engineering projects as a new senior engineering manager in the Orange, California office of WSP USA, formerly WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services consultancy.
Mr. Yoshizumi has 28 years of experience as a project manager for highway projects. He has been a key team member for planning, conceptual development and design of interchange and high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) facilities on every freeway in Orange County and most freeways in Los Angeles and Riverside Counties. He has managed the preparation of geometric plans and profiles for city and county arterials and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Prior to joining WSP, he was a senior project manager at a global engineering corporation and manager of transportation services for a Dallas-based consulting firm. He started his career with WSP, progressing from staff engineer to civil group manager for the Orange office.
Mr. Yoshizumi received a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has served on the civil and environmental engineering affiliates steering committee of the University of California, Irvine, for two years and is currently a member of the UCLA alumni association. Currently, he volunteers to review technical paper and poster submissions in support of the Transportation Research Board’s standing committee on managed lanes.
