SEATTLE — Mohammed Haq has been named the managing director of the property and buildings Seattle office of WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy.
Haq has over 20 years of experience providing mechanical design services for new and renovated facilities, including high performance design of HVAC, plumbing and mechanical piping systems for office buildings, universities, libraries, hospitals, commercial and industrial facilities. Prior to joining WSP, he was an associate principal with a Seattle consulting firm, responsible for managing a team of 20 individuals designing mechanical systems for aviation, higher education, municipal and research facilities.
“Mohammad has demonstrated a very sound knowledge of the industry and process, ensuring successful outcomes for his clients and projects,” said Rick Rome, executive vice president and managing director of property & buildings systems for WSP USA. “He has an extensive track record managing complex projects, and proven skills leading teams to deliver outstanding results for our clients.”
A licensed professional engineer in Washington, Oregon and Texas, Haq received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Seattle University. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers; Council of Educational Facility Planners International; Association for Computer Operations Management; and Design Build Institute of America (DBIA). He also served as the vice president for the I2S International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories – Emerald City Chapter, which he helped form and continue its operations until he stepped down in 2018.
Haq is actively involved in local community non-profit organizations and actively partakes in multiple activities to help build thriving communities, including volunteering as a coach at Lake Washington Parks and Recreation, volunteering with the Muslim Community Resource Center (MCRC), and at the Medina Academy (K-8) Private school, where he recently stepped down from his role as a Board Member after 10 years, establishing the operations of the school for curriculum development, staff retentions and built a new facility for the school.
