WSP Tops Building Design + Construction's Giants 300 List

WSP is the #1 engineering firm in North America for the second year in a row. WSP, the international engineering consultancy, has secured the top slot on Building Design + Construction’s Giants 300 ranking of engineering firms.

BD+C’s Giants 300 report is released annually and ranks AEC firms by discipline across more than 20 building sectors and services. More than 485 U.S.-based firms participated in the 2018 report.

The firm’s high rankings, which are based off 2018 revenue, are reflected in a number of recently completed and ongoing projects across the country. In 2018, WSP celebrated the openings of projects ranging from Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Banner Health Medical Center in Phoenix to 181 Fremont, Salesforce Tower and Salesforce Transit Center in San Francisco; and from Hudson Commons and Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York City to Northwestern University’s Ryan Walter Athletic Center in Chicago. Also in 2018, the firm secured a $50M IDIQ for NAVFAC Medical Facilities in joint venture with HKS.

Looking ahead, WSP’s property and buildings team is growing its offering in emerging markets like smart buildings and continuing to deliver groundbreaking projects, like 15 Hudson Yards in New York City and 727 West Madison in Chicago. WSP also recently cemented their position as the top pure-play engineering consultancy serving the healthcare market with their acquisition of Leach Wallace in 2019.

The Ryan Walter Athletic Facility was opened for practices by the Northwestern Wildcats football team last December. Players will return to their new practice facility as they prepare for the upcoming college football season.
