Klaus oversees drilling and well intervention projects in both salt and porous media. He recently assumed oversight for the injection well practice, including porous media gas storage and hazardous waste injection well projects. His project experience includes managing cost and schedule, well and cavern design, cost estimating, on-site supervision, and coordination with regulatory agencies. He has worked on projects in Europe and Asia as well as the U.S.
Klaus holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, and maintains an active industry presence. He serves as president of the Solution Mining Research Institute, and maintains membership in organizations such as the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the American Association of Drilling Engineers and the Solution Mining Research Institute. He is the author or co-author of various technical papers and presentations related to underground energy storage.
