Activating Regional Places

Can we create regional cities that thrive for decades to come?

Often the face of resilience, our regional cities are fast becoming hotspots for innovation and development. Helping them to seize opportunities, WSP has been at the forefront of local development, particularly in New South Wales (NSW) where the NSW government has identified dedicated areas to become thriving business hubs known as Special Activation Precincts (SAPs).

Unique to regional NSW, SAPs bring together planning and investment to focus on growing jobs and economic activity in an area. Precincts will support industries in line with the competitive advantages and economic strengths of each area.

Outside of our support for the SAPs, we have been active in burgeoning regional cities such as Toowoomba and Newcastle where we have provided our multidisciplinary services to help create Future Ready places where our friends, families and neighbours can thrive.
