Promoting Sustainability at African American Museum

The dedication ceremony for the National Museum of African American History & Culture (NMAAHC) on Sept. 24 attracted presidents, celebrities and thousands of supporters eager to celebrate the opening of the long-awaited museum in Washington, D.C.

The roof features an array of 384 solar panels, capable of producing 102,562 kilowatt hours of electricity annually for the museum.

Constructed out of bronze and glass panels, the “corona” façade provides shelter from the hot sun and natural light.
