Double celebration at ACES Awards 2026

Presented by ACES, the awards honour outstanding engineering projects and professionals who have demonstrated technical excellence, innovation and meaningful contributions to Singapore’s built environment.

ACES Design Excellence Award 2026 (M&E A1 Category)
East Coast Integrated Depot (ECID)

Served as the M&E consultant for the project, WSP worked closely with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and RDC Architects to deliver this landmark transport infrastructure project.

As the world’s first 4-in-1 integrated transport depot, ECID combines three MRT depots and a bus depot within a single development. Through an innovative vertically stacked design approach, the project optimises land use in land-scarce Singapore while supporting the operations of more than 220 trains and 500 buses. The project incorporates extensive sustainability features, including one of the largest solar photovoltaic installations within an MRT depot cluster and a high-efficiency centralised chilled water system.

We also adopted Building Information Modelling (BIM), integrated M&E systems and performance-based design strategies to enhance operational efficiency, resilience and long-term maintainability, setting a new benchmark for integrated depot design.

Arivindd Arumugam

Alongside project excellence, individual achievement was also recognised at this year’s awards.

With seven years of experience in mechanical engineering, Arivindd Arumugam, our Senior Engineer in Singapore’s Property & Buildings team, has contributed to a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, commercial and data centre developments across Singapore and the region. His expertise spans building services, fire engineering and hydraulics, where he delivers practical and sustainable solutions to complex engineering challenges.

Beyond his technical responsibilities, Arivindd also leads multidisciplinary M&E projects for major commercial developments in Singapore. A strong advocate for continuous learning, he holds Master’s degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Fire Safety Engineering, and is committed to applying innovative engineering approaches that support resilient and future-ready built environments.
