1. What did you enjoy the most about working at WSP during your internship?
I had the opportunity to work on various real-world projects with professionals. Utilising the knowledge learnt from classes and guidance and feedback from different engineers strengthened my ability to write reports and provide helps on projects. Accumulation of experiences and skills also enhanced me to integrated into the industry with ease. Besides, WSP Café days has been my memorable events in this internship period which I can take a break and chill with others.
2. What was the most valuable aspect of your internship experience, and why?
The most valuable of my internship experience is meeting people from different departments and new friends. It made me to understand deeper on the overall system of the company and the industry. This experience broaden my horizon on local and global engineering developments and helped me identify my future career decisions. In addition, good networking opportunities made this internship experience more interesting and valuable.
3. How did you interpret the culture of inclusion and diversity at WSP?
The team members are very friendly and supportive that they are active in providing guidance to me and support me when I encountered troubles. The culture is inclusive and diverse. Everyone is willing to communicate with each other, even beyond the office hours.
4. What skills did you learn or improve upon during your internship?
I improved my skills on research, management, communication and writing. The valuable hand-on experience fostered me to be able to distinguish useful resources with shorter time. By collaborating with team members, I talked more and become more confident on sharing my perspective and view of the projects. Moreover, it is essential to learn the skill on writing reports. Selecting the key contents of the report is difficult to learn but makes the paragraphs more professional and easier to understand.
5. How did your mentor/supervisor provide guidance and support throughout your internship?
My mentors and supervisors provided me abundance of guidance and supports for me to understand more about the industry and relevant knowledge, with references and guidance for me to work smoothly on different tasks. I am grateful to have the chance to receive such significant supports.
