1. What did you enjoy the most about working at WSP during your internship?
During my internship, what I enjoy the most is communicating with my teammates and be able to know more about one another. Through conversations, whether it is work-related or not, we can know more about one another and more about the structure about WSP. I can also learn from the experienced and to gain knowledge that cannot be delivered by a textbook.
2. What was the most valuable aspect of your internship experience, and why?
For me, I have applied knowledge that I have learnt in my lecture to real-life working environment. In school, the laboratory section cannot cover everything, but in WSP, we learn and work at the same time.
3. How did you interpret the culture of inclusion and diversity at WSP?
My team is very welcoming, and I was invited to lunch with my teammates. Everyone is supportive and respect one another. My team give useful comments in a polite manner and are not annoyed by me even though I asked a lot of questions.
4. What skills did you learn or improve upon during your internship?
One of my takeaways in WSP is to learn more about using AutoCAD for efficiency. Throughout the past two months, I have used AutoCAD almost everyday and I am getting more and more hang of it. My communication skills also improved as it requires a lot of communication as an intern in team.
5. How did your mentor/supervisor provide guidance and support throughout your internship?
Every time when I faced challenges, both my mentor and supervisor would give advice to me, and I feel comfortable working with them. They truly want me to learn and not just complete the tasks without knowing what is going on.
