Adopting new and innovative technologies will enable transport authorities and operators to support the mobility needs of growing urban communities. Today, with the advent of battery-electric and hydrogen propulsion systems, LiDAR guidance systems and autonomous technology, trackless rapid transit (TRT) is emerging as a viable mode to fulfil community expectations for public transport. For the public, these expectations centre around accessibility, convenience and reliability; for local authorities, the expectations involve reducing costs and increasing ease of implementation to support high-quality mobility services.
