Organised by The Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modeling (HKIBIM), the awards recognise projects, initiatives and organisations that actively use BIM technology in the project lifecycle in or outside Hong Kong.
WSP Hong Kong’s BIM Team receives the top Grand Award in the award’s ‘BIM Department/Units/Teams’ category. With over 200 professionals as BIM technical experts and strategic advisors, the team supports all our multidisciplinary technical teams in Hong Kong and has delivered collaborative, efficient and effective building and infrastructure designs for over 150 projects. Apart from experienced applications in modelling, WSP has been pushing the boundaries of BIM for more service offerings including digital design, scan-to-BIM approach, engineering analysis, 4D and 5D simulation and asset management, adding values to a wide range of projects and clients.
This is the third consecutive year for the BIM team leading WSP to clinch top awards since the award’s inception in 2018.
Moreover, our recent BIM management involvement in Tseung Kwan O Desalination Plant has earned a Silver Award under ‘Government Projects’ category. Featuring a cloud-based common data environment, our Level 2 BIM design solutions has enabled seamless collaboration of six locations across the world to synchronise project information with up-to-date models in a fast-track programme of 39 months.
The project has recently received an honourable mention at Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards 2020 and the ‘BIM Projects 2020’ in the Celebration of BIM Achievement 2020 organised by Construction Industry Council.
We are also one of the BIM collaborators of InnoCell, the Gold Award winner under ‘Private Development Projects’ category. Utilising BIM as the structural consultant of the project, we realised the first multi-storey residential building adopting modular integrated construction (MiC) technology in Hong Kong.
