Decade-Long Commitment to Inclusive Initiative in Hong Kong
Our support to the Dragon Boat Race with the Intellectually Disabled in Hong Kong enters the 10th year.
WSP Hong Kong collaborated with our decade-long partner, The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council (NAAC), to organise another edition of this meaningful dragon boat race for our volunteers and young adults with intellectual disabilities from NAAC on 12 November.
During the four training sessions and this final race, all our participants have learned to coordinate and cooperate well to sort out the best seating arrangement, rhythm and paddling pattern that would produce the best result. It was not only a chance to develop knowledge and skills in this sport, but also a way to understand that intellectual disability is no barrier to challenge their physical ability.
Ivy Kong, CEO of WSP in Asia and some senior executives also attended to show their support and participated in the fun races. Ivy even attended the training and participated in a race with the boaters.
As part of WSP’s vision of creating thriving communities, we will ceaselessly get involved in community work to bring out the best in people with different needs.
