WSP Singapore Young Consulting Engineers Recognised

This award celebrates and recognises the innovation, engineering abilities, and significant contributions of our young professionals to the engineering community and profession in Singapore. 

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our four young engineers who have demonstrated outstanding project leadership, critical thinking, and creativity in their respective sectors. This is the 8th consecutive year that our young talents winning this award.

The winners were honoured on stage at the ACES Gala Dinner held on 13 August 2024, where they received their awards in the presence of the industry leaders and professionals. The event provided them with a valuable opportunity to widen their network, connect with fellow professionals from the industry, and be inspired by the collective expertise and innovation within the engineering community. 

Mandy Wong Pui Yu
Senior Engineer, Transport & Infrastructure

Mandy Wong is instrumental in several key healthcare and infrastructure projects, driven by her dedication to sustainability. She has demonstrated great leadership and technical skills in creating holistic, sustainable building designs by analysing environmental flows and advising on sustainable practices. Outside of work, Mandy finds joy in cross-stitching and gains artistic expressions from attending theatre performances and art exhibitions.

Cai Tianyu
Engineer, Property & Buildings

Tianyu is a key contributor to a range of commercial and industrial projects, including the power resiliency upgrading project for government agency. He has showcased his leadership and strong technical capabilities in solving complex engineering issues such as the planning of plant room locations and overall routing of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services through innovative and creative solutions. Outside of work, Tianyu engages in team strategy games and enjoys watching sports games, especially football and E-sport. 

Sun Zhuo
Senior Engineer, Property & Buildings

Zhuo plays a key role in significant industrial and mission-critical projects like the Singtel Choa Chu Kang Data Centre and Tuas Battery Manufacturing Plant. His technical expertise has shone through in complex engineering challenges, including the implementation of natural gas-powered steam heating systems. With a Future-Ready mindset, he focuses on innovative solutions that enhance plant efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. In his free time, he enjoys PC gaming and immersing himself in history. 

Poh Shi Lei
Senior Engineer, Property & Buildings

Shi Lei has worked on numerous key commercial and residential projects including Chong Pang Integrated Development (CPID) and Hillhaven residential development. Known for his strong technical capabilities, he excels in designing plant rooms and equipment sizing, as well as coordinating M&E services through open discussion with contractors and clients. Shi Lei also engages in team sports such as basketball which help him to develop good teamwork and communication amongst players to achieve better collaboration.
