Alongside other recipients, Daphne received her Merit award at the IET Hong Kong Young Woman Engineer of the Year award ceremony on 8 March, which also commemorated International Women’s Day and celebrated the achievements of distinguished female engineers.
Currently serving as a Senior MEP Engineer based in Hong Kong, Daphne specialises in building services systems and is dedicated to promoting innovative and sustainable design practices that enhance performance standards in various building projects, ranging from state-of-the-art new developments to retrofitting existing structures.
Throughout her career, Daphne has demonstrated a a profound commitment to advancing engineering community and inspiring young and aspiring engineers through her involvement in professional institutions. Recently chosen as one of the President’s Protégés by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) for the 2023/24 session, she currently chairs the Sustainability Committee of the ASHRAE Hong Kong Chapter and serves as a committee member for both the HKIE President’s Protégés Club and the Building Services Division. Daphne regularly shares her experiences with university students and recent graduates in different occasions, providing valuable insights into career planning and fostering essential industry connections.
She has also dedicated herself to promoting the engineering profession to the broader public. For example, she mentored students in engineering competitions during HKIE’s public engagement initiative Hong Kong Engineers Week 2023 and 2024.
