WSP Singapore Marks 40-Year Legacy of Technical Excellence

We celebrated our 40 years of presence and contributions in this vibrant city in our new office.

On 12 July, WSP welcomed over 120 clients, partners and colleagues at our new Singapore office at The Metropolis, marking our 40-year legacy in this vibrant city. Themed ‘Driving Innovation for a Sustainable Tomorrow,’ the event was a testament to our transformation journey and our vision for a resilient future.

The celebration was graced by the presence of WSP's Asia CEO Ivy Kong and Asia COO Rex Lai, who were joined by Tom Smith, Global Director of Property and Buildings, and Eric Peissel, Global Director of Transport and Infrastructure. The leaders reflected on WSP's journey of technical innovation and expressed enthusiasm for the prospects in Singapore, while Cheryl Lee, Managing Director of WSP Singapore, shared with the guests our achievements and transformation over the past four decades.

Since 1984, WSP (began as Parsons Brinckerhoff) has played a significant role in Singapore’s infrastructure, buildings, and urban development. Our contributions can be seen across almost all of Singapore’s MRT lines and depots, from Circle Line to the upcoming Cross Island Line and Marina Coastal Expressway to North South Corridor. We also have shaped iconic landmarks such as Jewel Changi Airport, Marina Bay Sands and Raffles Hospital.

Highlighting the event was guest speaker Professor Lean Weng Yeoh, Chief Sustainability Officer from A*STAR, who shared his expert insights on sustainable low-carbon designs and the pursuit of net-zero goals. To leverage on our vision for a sustainable tomorrow, Steve Lankester, WSP Director of Regional Development, Asia moderated a panel discussion with Professor Yeoh, Eric Peissel, and our young and aspiring WSP future leaders. The panel explored the strategies to build the future resiliency against the ever-changing market landscape and environmental challenges, and how do we bring the best resources globally to Singapore and vice versa.

WSP is currently involved in more healthcare-related projects including eldercare centres, integrated developments and clinics, as well as data centres, pharmaceutical hubs, and food agriculture hubs. As we celebrate the milestone, we remain dedicated to making a positive impact on Singapore’s communities – in particular supporting Singapore Green Plan 2030 – through our unique Future Ready approach, strong multidisciplinary expertise, innovative design and efficient project delivery.
