The Parklands Project is one of the largest urban renewal projects ever undertaken in Queensland and was one of Australia’s first build-to-rent developments – now known as The Smith Collective. From the outset, the developer (Grocon) and investors wanted to create a lasting legacy, shaped by the highest sustainability standards, for the community beyond delivering a world-class athletes’ village for 6,600 athletes and officials during the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The precinct, including the buildings, infrastructure and open space was created to enable reinvention as a healthy, accessible and resilient place for the Gold Coast community to live, work and play for years to come.

On 31 March 2021, the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group – a group of 97 cities around the world – came together to demand historic levels of investment in public transport to ensure a green and just recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 50 years ago, a pulp mill was built near the Northumberland Strait. Boat Harbour was dammed and became the receiving point of pulp mill effluent, resulting in the deposition of contaminated sludge.

A flagship project to modernise heating and ventilation at Copenhagen City Hall will achieve heating energy savings of 80%, demonstrating the contribution historic buildings can make in the transition to net zero. 

The project included construction of numerous water management structures, including surface retention ponds, line retention, flow controllers and two pump stations.

The HVAC system upgrades were delivered with minimal production downtime, while creating significant improvements to the energy efficiency, maintenance accessibility, room pressure and condition stability, and to allow for the future expansion of mechanical systems.

The new, climate-friendly Racehall located near Copenhagen in Denmark is the world's largest indoor go-kart track. The building is a spacious round arch hall with large glulam rafters that span the 75-meter-wide hall, and a facade of sandwich panels.

WSP’s South African transport  experts have successfully delivered a Bus Rapid Transport system that offers fast, safe and affordable public transport on a network of bus routes across Johannesburg. It aims to provide better public transport, reduce congestion on public roads and contribute to improving the environment.
