Environmental Planning

Successful projects are made possible through effective and integrated environmental planning

Around the world WSP is working with public and private-sector clients to guide their projects through the planning process, ensuring that from the earliest stages, they are designed to mitigate their impacts on the environment and society. Our aim is to deliver viable, resilient projects that comply with complex and frequently-changing international, national and local regulatory requirements, withstand public scrutiny, meet corporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets and have strong resiliency and climate change adaptation plans.

We help navigate these complexities by providing comprehensive environmental planning, environmental impact assessments (EIA), investment and procurement support, stakeholder engagement, environmental monitoring, auditing and regulatory compliance services that meet these objectives while balancing sustainability outcomes with economic growth and social value.

Whole lifecycle support

We support our clients through the whole lifecycle of their projects, from new investments in development or infrastructure to expanding existing assets, through the operational stage to closure and demolition of their facilities.

Our planning advisory teams work closely with our technical environmental experts to deliver a full suite of services throughout the planning process and beyond.

A world of experience

Our work is tailored to the specific needs of particular geographies and sectors with multidisciplinary teams available to meet the individual demands of any project and the community it impacts upon. Our staff have experience of a wide range of sectors, including transport & infrastructure, property development, renewable energy, financial, industry and mining and apply the knowledge and skills learned from each. In addition, our ability to draw on expertise and experience from our experts around the world, across a broad range of environmental, social, economic and technical disciplines, is a key factor in delivering successful results.
