The new visionary climatorium is built at the East Harbour in Lemvig, with a design that takes inspiration from the surrounding landscape. A climate landscape called the Climate Source forms the entrance to the building, shaped like a weather map with pressure lines (an isobar map) to represent the wind that can often be experienced in Lemvig Harbour. The shape of the landscape flows into the building and extends into an entrance hall shaped like a wave, made out of wood to invoke associations with ships and sea waves. This association is also a modern tribute to the surrounding nature, fishing culture and local building traditions.
The building’s ground floor has a large indoor space offering shared facilities and activities, both for people using the building on a daily basis and those visiting the exhibition area, conference rooms, etc., as well as office buildings with meeting facilities. The shared space continues on the first floor, which holds more office space and expanded kitchen facilities.
