The CTBUH Annual Awards were presented at the 2021 Tall+Urban Innovation Conference, which was held virtually and joined by over 800 industry professionals from more than 40 countries on 18-20 May 2021.
This year, more than 160 world-class finalists were competing in 28 categories. Our project teams in Asia were involved in five projects which were highly honoured as ‘Category Winners’ selected by judges and ‘Audience Winners’ picked by the conference attendees.

Featuring a breath-taking 80m building-high atrium, WSP equipped this complex with an integrated MEP solution that shapes a quality collaborative environment for meaningful economic and social outcomes in Asia.
Best Tall Building Award, Asia Region: Overall Category Winner

Inspired by the form of an ancient ceremonial vessel ‘Zun’, the concave profile offers more valuable prime floor spaces at height, while creating a strong centerpiece for a new business district with WSP’s cutting-edge design in energy-saving MEP systems and high speed large capacity double deck elevators.

Designed by Zaha Hadid, Leeza SOHO tower rises as a single volume divided into two halves with the world's tallest atrium in the middle. WSP provided Future Ready solutions that made the project as one of the most environmentally friendly and energy efficient buildings in China.
Interior Design Award: Audience Winner

Featuring the 300m-long ‘The Crystal’ skybridge sitting atop four 250m-tall skyscrapers, WSP’s MEP and vertical transportation system design welcome visitors to enjoy the 270-degree panorama of the city’s skyline at the junction of the Yangtze River and Jialing River.

WSP's role: MEP and vertical transportation consultancy
WSP oversaw the design of a seawater cooling system for high-performance chiller plants and supervised fire safety provisions, among other important behind-the-scenes engineering features for this iconic, new cultural-retail complex which reshapes the Tsim Sha Tsui harbourfront.
Urban Habitat Award, Single Site Scale: Audience Winner
WSP's role: MEP and fire engineering consultancy
