Chief Executive Officer, Asia
Ivy Kong joined the Corporation in January 2019 and is known for being a dynamic leader with a result-driven approach. She is a Chartered Engineer with 20 years of experience in professional engineering consulting. Her expertise encompass client relationship management, business development, project delivery as well as employee development and operations. She has worked extensively across Asia where she has established a strong track record in winning and successfully delivering major infrastructure projects across the region including Greater China, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and India.
Ivy graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil & Structural Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Prior to joining WSP, she held senior management responsibilities at AECOM in Asia.
Managing Director, Building Structures, Asia
George Chan is the Managing Director for Building Structures, Asia. He has over 40 years of experience specialising in the design and management of foundation & superstructure works for complex buildings and transportation sector projects. Prior to joining the Company in 2013, George had a successful 27-year career with Ove Arup where held a senior position within their Asia operations.
George is a Registered Structural Engineer, Registered Geotechnical Engineer, and Members of the Institution of Structural Engineers, Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, and the National Administration Board of Engineering Registration (Structural) in China. He attained his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba, Canada.
Managing Director, Korea
Bruce is a professional Civil Engineer with over 20 years of experience specializing in program and construction management of commercial, pharmaceutical and healthcare sector projects in Korea and the USA. Prior to joining WSP, he held senior positions within prominent international corporations including Executive Vice President at EE-Hwa Construction, Vice President at Korean Air and Country Head of Jacobs Korean operations.
Bruce holds a MSc. In Construction Management from the University of Southern California, USA and a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Seoul National University of Science and Technology, South Korea.
Managing Director, Property and Buildings, China
Colin Chung is the Managing Director for Property and Buildings in China and brings to this position over 30 years of professional experience in the planning, design and management of environmental, industrial, property & buildings, transport and infrastructure sector projects. He has spent his entire professional career with the Company and specializes in green engineering, sustainable building systems design, MEP engineering, cogeneration and trigeneration power systems and district cooling systems.
Colin is a Chartered Engineer, LEED AP and is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, UK, the Energy Institute, UK and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, U.K. He attained his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the City University of London, UK and MSc in Building Services from the University of Hong Kong.
Managing Director, Thailand
Alongkorn Deewong is the Managing Director for Thailand where he has been instrumental in establishing WSP as one of the premier international engineering consultancies in Thailand. He has 35 years of experience in the transport & infrastructure sectors and joined the Company in 2003, prior to which he had held senior positions at Hyder Consulting, and Christiani & Nielsen.
Alongkorn is a registered Thai Professional Civil Engineer. He attained his B.S. (Civil Engineering) from Adamson University in the Philippines, Master of Science from George Washington University in the United States, and Master of Management from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.
Regional Power Director, Asia
Colin has over 35 years of experience in the power industry covering project management, design, erection, commissioning and O&M of various power generating technologies. Before joining WSP, Colin has been specialising in power plant operations and management within Asian cultures, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Vietnam and the Philippines, for over 25 years.
Based in our Taiwan office, Colin develops the firm’s power capability in the region and formulates our strategy to deliver a sustainable business and projects that ensures quality delivery, client satisfaction and alignment with WSP’s global vision, leading our effort in accelerating energy transition.
Colin is a Chartered Engineer and member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, UK. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Abertay University Dundee, UK and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Brunel University London, UK.
General Manager, Philippines
Julius is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of business development and operation experiences within the engineering consulting sector in Asia. Prior to joining the firm, Julius was the Director of Business Development at Jacobs Philippines, where he was held responsible for business development, sales management, as well as the building and maintenance of customer relationships. Before that, he spent 14 years in Wooldfields Consultants, Inc. in various Senior Management positions.
Julius attained a MBA degree from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He is a member of Society of Philippine Accredited Consultants (SPAC) and was formerly an Auditor and PR Officer of Council of Filipino Consultants.
Managing Director, Environment, Greater China
Paul leads a strong team of environmental experts to foster our position as a leading global environmental consulting firm through seamless cross-sector collaboration across the Greater China region.
Paul has been involved in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assessments and remediation projects in Asia for over 25 years, with major projects including site decontamination for Kai Tak Development Area in Hong Kong, conceptual to detailed design of landfills in Asia and EHS assessments/compliance audits throughout Southeast Asia for multinational manufacturing and private equity firms. He has also worked on numerous environmental and social impact assessments on infrastructure projects in Hong Kong. An environmental scientist by profession, Paul was Golder’s Director of EHS Services in Asia before taking the current role in December 2021.
Regional Development Director, Asia
Steve is a Chartered Civil Engineer and has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry during which he has been deeply involved in many significant transport & infrastructure projects, both in the Middle East and Far East Asia. These include; the Diriyah Gate Development Authority’s Wadi Safar Development in Riyadh, the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail, the Qatar Rail Development Programme, the Dubai Metro Purple Line, the Taiwan High-Speed Rail and the MTR Tseung Kwan O Extension in Hong Kong. With his expertise in Design Management and Programme & Project Management, Steve champions WSP’s business growth in the region in this role through the implementation of new technologies and innovation in project delivery for key and strategic clients, while leveraging the firm’s broad technical expertise to enhance current and new service offerings.
Prior to this role, Steve was the Director of Programme & Project Management for WSP’s Transport and Infrastructure market sector in the Middle East.
Managing Director, Property & Buildings MEP, Mainland China
Alan is the Managing Director, Property & Buildings MEP, Mainland China. He has over 25 years of professional experience that spans all aspects of building services engineering, including system planning and design of MVAC system, fire services, plumbing, lifts and escalators installations covering the full spectrum of building types. Currently based in Shanghai, China, Alan also leads the Future Ready programme in Asia, and is also responsible to drive SMART and new technology initiatives within the Asia business.
Alan is a Chartered Engineer, he holds a BSc degree in Building Environment Service Engineering from The University of Bath, UK and a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Managing Director, Taiwan
Frank has over 20 years of management experience from the buildings, transportation, and telecommunications sectors. Prior to joining the Company in 2007, Frank held senior positions at the Taiwan Fixed Network Company and Taiwan Mobile, where he specialized in network and telecommunication projects related to energy management, ICT systems, SDH systems, Radio systems, Cloud computing, and Data center projects.
Frank is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional and holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the National Taiwan University, a MSc in Management and an EMBA from the National Chengchi University, Taipei.
Managing Director, Malaysia
Joining WSP in 2017 as we restarted the operations of our permanent office in Malaysia, Karthegasen has been playing a vital role in diversifying our service offerings, enhancing our capabilities and building our reputation in the country. In particular, he has been personally involved in a wide range of industrial-related projects, serving renowned clients from different sectors and driving the overall market growth in Malaysia.
Karthegasen has around 25 years of experience as a registered Professional Engineer in Malaysia. He has managed and delivered projects in infrastructure developments, transportation, commercial and residential developments, social infrastructure, townships, industrial, petrochemical and LNG plant, as well as retail sectors in multiple geographies delivering projects in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Dubai, India, Thailand, UK, Australia and New Zealand.
General Counsel, Asia
Admitted to practice in Victoria and High Court of Australia, Derek is a proven senior legal counsel with over 15 years of experience in the areas of dispute resolution, insurance corporate and commercial law (including mergers and acquisitions) both within private practice and corporate in-house environments, which enables him to offer high quality, risk-based legal advice on complex and strategic matters with a collaborative and inclusive communication style, focusing on delivering business strategy for organisations whilst building and maintaining trusted relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Derek has been served as Golder’s APAC General Counsel since 2017, and subsequently transited to the current role after Golder becoming part of WSP in April 2021 to lead our regional legal team on a wide range of construction, engineering other commercial contracts and agreements and resolving key commercial disputes.
Managing Director, Singapore and Malaysia
With his over 30 years of experience from the transport and infrastructure sector on project delivery and business development across Asia, James restarted the operations of WSP’s permanent office in Malaysia in 2017 and has been leading our strong growth in the country before taking the leadership role of the Singapore office in 2021. Before his overseas assignment, James has held the position as Operations Director of Infrastructure for the China Region for 7 years where he oversaw the operations and business development of the transport and infrastructure business.
James is a Chartered Engineer, graduating with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong, MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Master of Engineering Science from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Prior to joining the firm in 1997, he worked at the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation and Civil Aviation Department in Hong Kong, and Westinghouse Signals in Australia.
Managing Director, Transport and Infrastructure, Asia
With his substantial technical and project management knowledge, and proven ability to embrace digitalisation in engineering projects, Clifford is leading our regional workforce to realise some of Asia’s most strategic developments to meet community needs for mobility, connectivity, sustainability and resilience.
Clifford graduated with a Civil & Structural Engineering degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is a registered geotechnical engineer. He was the Operation Director of Meinhardt prior to joining WSP as Managing Director, Advanced Engineering & Digital Services, Asia in December 2021.
Director, Human Resources, Asia
Edith joined the Company in 2019 after a successful career with Bouygues Construction where she was Head of Human Resources and Communications of their M&E business unit and a key member of their APAC management team. With 20 years of diverse HR professional experience in the construction industry, she has led the transformation of Bouygues’s HR function from a transaction-based to a people-focused and strategy-driven role. Edith’s experience spans all aspects of HR functions including performance assessments, remuneration, talent identification, recruitment and staff development and mobility.
Chief Financial Officer, Asia
Virginia is the Chief Financial Officer, Asia and has over 20 years of diverse professional experience covering financial planning, operations, analysis and management within leading multi-national and listed corporations. She began her professional career at PwC and more recently served as the Finance Director (Planning & Analysis) for the Asia Pacific region at AECOM Asia. She has over 10 years of senior level experience specific to the engineering consulting sector as well as experience in business integration, budget and formulation of regional financial strategies.
Virginia is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She attained her BSc degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and an MBA degree from The University of Bath, UK.
Managing Director, MEP Property & Buildings, Asia
Vincent Tse is the Managing Director for MEP Property & Buildings, Asia where he has managed and contributed to the designs of numerous premier projects in Asia, the middle-east and UK. He has 40 years of experience with the Company and is a specialist in MEP and vertical transport systems for mega size developments, transport facilities and super tall building projects. And has presented over 30 research papers on advanced HVAC design, fire services systems design, energy conservation and efficient vertical transport systems.
Vincent is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Hong Kong, Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, and Fellow of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He attained his M.Sc. in Building Services Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
Managing Director, Smart Solutions and Advanced Engineering, Asia
With over 30 years of design and construction experience specialising in implementing pioneer technologies and solutions in transport-infrastructure systems, health care and smart buildings, Alex now oversees our efforts in offering end-to-end integrated digital services to cross-sector clients, from advisory, design, implementation and on to operations and maintenance to data and performance analytics, enabling WSP to deploy the most sought-after solutions for a smarter, more productive and sustainable built environment across Asia.
Alex is a Chartered Engineer and attained his degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Manchester Metropolitan University.
