WSP Swept Five Awards at First-ever BIM Automation Arena Challenge
Two of our in-house developed solutions have won at BIM Automation Arena 2023, the first competition and showcase on BIM and programming in Hong Kong.
Organised by Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM) with Cyberport, the competition recognises digital solutions that can further improve construction project management quality and effectiveness in design and documentation, visualisation and collaboration, and interoperability and data exchange.
Standing out amongst 25 finalists from AEC and IT industry, our winning digital solutions demonstrate WSP’s best practices of harnessing the potential of BIM technology in harnessing design automation to enhance productivity and quality.
ETE Structural Analysis & Design Programme
A comprehensive system integrating all essential digital application systems, ETE has clinched Silver Award in Software Application (Standalone / SaaS) category and The Most Popular Award. The programme can perform structural analysis, detailing design, 2D drawings in CAD and 3D modelling in Revit, enabling seamless information exchange between systems including BIM for design coordination and drawing production, which significantly increase efficiency and productivity of structural engineers, improve accuracy and reduce error, allowing engineers to derive structural behaviour from foundation to superstructure as a whole.
Light+
Light+, our robust lighting design system with BIM integration, was also recognised with Honourable Mention. Light+ leverages our self-developed Revit Plugin to enable automatic extraction of geometry and design data from BIM models, automatic generation of results with desired lighting arrangement options, and rapid production of lighting models, wiring circuitry and layout plan in few seconds, streamlining the workflow of lighting design.
Our capabilities in BIM automation and intelligence were also manifested through the winning of Spartan Awards of our two BIM experts, Dino Chen and Tony Lo, for their submission in BIM Automation Arena challenge, where they designed and produced BIM models for the exterior envelop, including PV panels on the top and feature lightings on the sides for a special arena in the Metaverse.
