WSP Young Engineers Win ACES Annual Awards for 7th Consecutive Year

Congratulations to the recently announced 2023 award recipients as well as recognition of our outstanding 2022 awardees. The winners were well-represented from a diverse mix of our core disciplines and sectors including mechanical, electrical as well as civil and structural, demonstrating high competencies in project leadership skills, critical thinking, creativity, notable engineering contribution and capabilities.

Organised by ACES, this award celebrates and recognises young professionals in Singapore for their innovative and engineering abilities, and their substantial and sustained contributions to the engineering community and profession. WSP is proud to nurture young engineers who are both skilful and passionate to create positive impact on our built environment.

ACES Young Consulting Engineer of the Year 2023 Winners

Fong Yun Long
Senior Engineer, Transport & Infrastructure

Yun Long has 10 years of infrastructure project experience under his belt, ranging from Thomson-East Coast Line to Cross Region Line (MRT Stations and Depots). An advocate for harnessing BIM to streamline engineering workflows, he is committed to transcending traditional boundaries for a true digital transformation. When he clocks out of the office, Yun Long trades his mouse for a pencil as an avid artist. Some of his masterpieces can be seen at our internal events.

Jameson Ng
Senior Engineer, Transport & Infrastructure

Jameson is a key member of the Jurong Region Line Depot project and is part of the team that successfully navigated the highly intense tender-document preparation phase during final submission stage. He performs as a supporting role in major projects including the Cross Island Line Mainline and the Architectural / Engineering Services for Multi-Storey Bus Depot. In his free time, Jameson maintains an active lifestyle by working-out at the gym and going for hiking trips around Singapore.

Muhammad Azrie Bin Sazali
Senior Engineer, Property & Buildings

Azrie has worked on numerous key commercial and industrial projects including The Integrated Transport Hub at Jurong East and Toa Payoh Integrated Development. He has demonstrated leadership and strong technical capabilities in solving complex engineering issues such as the planning of plant room locations and overall routing of M&E services through innovative and creative solutions. Azrie engages in team strategy games and enjoys listening to podcasts, specifically in the topics of current affairs and psychology/human behaviour.

Rachel Khoo
Senior Engineer, Ground Engineering & Environmental

Rachel was involved in Johor-Bahru Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link and is currently the lead engineer in the foundation design phase of the Changi East Depot for Cross Island Line, a large-scale development spanning across 57.6ha on reclamation ground. She has adapted digitalisation in automating processes to solve soil-structure interaction challenges, optimise design solutions, increase productivity and reduce manhours cost. Outside of work, Rachel is an adrenaline junkie who loves snowboarding, wakeboarding and surf skating.

ACES Young Consulting Engineer of the Year 2022 Winners

Lim Zhi Yi
Senior Engineer, Transport & Infrastructure

Zhi Yi was deployed to the Punggol Digital District DCS Project as part of the collaboration team to assist with the ACMV Design. He plays an important role in the Tengah Bus and Rail Integrated Depot project to steer the coordination of process and services using advanced technology like the Coordinated Combined Service Model (CCSM) to improve efficiency. Zhi Yi was a regular volunteer and team leader with a soup kitchen in Kuala Lumpur for more than 5 years, managing street distribution of food to homeless people in the city.

Xie Sihan
Principal Engineer, Transport & Infrastructure

Sihan held the role of a viaduct technical lead for design and build projects - Boon Lay Station and Jurong Region Line. He is instrumental in collaborating with multiple stakeholders including drafters, civil team, authorities and contractor, to design and deliver the submissions in high quality and timely. Sihan enjoys solo travelling as a backpacker and is a thrill seeker by engaging in bungee jumping activities despite his fear of heights.
