We are thrilled to announce that WSP Asia has been accepted as a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Sustainable Business Network (ESBN). This membership reflects our commitment to driving sustainable development and working towards the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and its associated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as we have set emissions reduction targets, approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), to achieve net zero emissions across our value chain by 2040 with the aim to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C.
The ESBN is an influential platform that brings together businesses devoted to promoting sustainable development. Members of ESBN consist of business leaders, CEOs, and heads of sustainability from companies with substantial operations in the Asia Pacific region. By joining this esteemed network, we aim to actively contribute to the advancement of SDGs and collaborate with other leading organisations to address pressing sustainability challenges.
Sustainability is the core of our business practices. We have demonstrated our commitment to sustainability by becoming a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact – a voluntary initiative that promotes responsible business practices and sustainable development. In the meantime, WSP also joined Race to Zero, which brings together a coalition of leading net zero initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability in our sustainability journey.
Taking action in climate change is the utmost important to us. With our commitment and technical expertise, we are fully committed in working with ESBN to push sustainability ambition and action through collaborative action, policy advocacy and peer-to-peer learning and inspiration.
