The Oakland Airport Connector (OAC) is a 3.2-mile connection from the Coliseum Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Station to the Oakland Airport Terminal. The route consists primarily of elevated structures with portions both at- and below-grade alignment.

WSP, a subcontractor to Doppelmayr Cable Car (DCC), served as the engineer-of-record for the guideway superstructure and prepared the design drawings, specifications, and calculations reviewed and approved by BART and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Additionally, WSP worked closely with Caltrans and BART to gain necessary design approvals and to monitor construction quality. The tubular superstructure was designed per the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Design Specifications for Bridges and in compliance with the Caltrans Bridge Design Manual and Caltrans Seismic Design Criteria. Cutting-edge fatigue design was used for the tubular steel structure.
