PFASER is a modular thus scalable destructive technology, closed-loop electro-oxidation system that breaks down PFAS, and other persistent contaminants in water. It also provides a treated discharge with no detectable concentration of perchlorate thanks to WSP’s proprietary perchlorate removal process. 

It’s fast, field-proven, and built for industrial scale. The system is designed for flexibility and stability—whether deployed as a mobile containerized unit or integrated into a permanent treatment hub, it adapts to your site and your needs. 

Patented boron-doped diamond electrodes

WSP uses long-lasting BDD electrodes to generate hydroxyl radicals and electrons that destroy PFAS molecules—including PFOS and PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid)—converting them mainly into carbon dioxide, water and fluorides. These patented electrodes have been used in commercial applications for over a decade. WSP has the exclusivity on these electrodes for the treatment of PFAS in liquids through our partnership with pro aqua Diamantelektroden Produktion GmbH. They are engineered for chemical stability, physical durability, treatment efficiency, and minimal maintenance.

What are PFAS, and why are they called “forever chemicals”?

PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are synthetic chemicals known for their persistence in the environment and the human body, hence the nickname “forever chemicals’’.
PFAS are found in various products, including non-stick cookware, water-resistant fabrics, firefighting foams, and even in some food packaging. They can also contaminate water sources near industrial sites and landfills.

Ongoing research aims to optimize this technology for broader applications, such as sludge and soils. Long chain PFAS, precursors and some short chain PFAS are destroyed.
