AUSTIN, TEXAS — Stephanie Messerli has been named Texas transportation leader and a senior vice president at WSP USA, a leading engineering, environment and professional services consultancy.
As the transportation leader for Texas, she will be responsible for managing operations, overseeing project delivery and growing and diversifying the firm’s multi-disciplinary transportation portfolio in Texas while advancing WSP’s rich legacy of shaping infrastructure in the state.
“Stephanie is uniquely suited to lead our Texas transportation team,” said Arpit Talati, WSP USA Texas Southwest District lead. “She will enhance WSP’s technical excellence and capacity to continue to design and deliver amazing projects across the Lone Star State.”
Messerli brings nearly 30 years of experience in planning, design, program management and public involvement for transportation projects to her new role.
In the past year as the local business lead for WSP’s Austin office, she supported the firm’s successful pursuit of the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) Interstate 35 CapEx Central Downtown project, an eight-mile improvement project through downtown Austin.
Prior to joining WSP, she served as a program management director for a global engineering firm where she was responsible for the management of large-scale planning and design projects in the Central Texas region, including multiple TXDOT programs.
Messerli has supported large-scale projects in the Central Texas region for the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, City of Austin, Travis County, Williamson County, Hays County and the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority, among others. She also serves on Austin’s Transit Forward board and has held several leadership positions for WTS International since 2007.
WSP traces its history in Texas to 1886, with numerous impactful contributions in the state, such as the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Resiliency Study (Texas), engineering oversight for resilient infrastructure projects under the Texas General Land Office (Texas), Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center Dallas Master Plan, the improvement program for the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Southern Gateway design-build reconstruction and improvement project.
