NEW YORK — In recognition of its outstanding contributions to public-private partnerships (P3s), WSP, a leading engineering, environment and professional services consultancy, was named Technical Advisor of the Year at the 2023 P3 Awards.
This award, which recognized WSP for excellence in advising on the delivery of partnership projects and programs within the Americas, was presented on Oct. 26 at a ceremony in New York City.
“Our excellence comes from long-term involvement in P3 advising before and during the delivery of projects,” said Sallye Perrin, senior vice president and national director of P3s at WSP. “We support clients from the very early phases of strategy development and identifying where a P3 makes sense through procurement, implementation monitoring and post-agreement support. This has been key for clients who need additional support in the post-transactional phase of P3 delivery.”
In 2022, WSP made outstanding contributions to P3 initiatives as a technical advisor, successfully delivering innovative P3 projects that made impacts on the market and industry. WSP served as P3 advisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Major Bridge P3 Initiative, a transformative project to rehabilitate and replace nine major bridges across the Commonwealth; and as technical advisor to the New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority Construction and Development Company for its Station Accessibility P3 project, which procured a private partner to implement elevator accessibility improvements at 13 busy transit stations.
Additional WSP-assisted P3 projects in 2022 included the Kalaeloa Desalination Facility in Honolulu, Michigan Department of Transportation’s Interstate 75 improvements, the Maryland Transit Administration’s Zero Emission Bus Planning project, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development Interstate 10 Calcasieu River Bridge P3, and the Currituck County Wastewater P3 project in North Carolina.
“These projects distinguished WSP as a strong technical P3 advisor in 2022, showcasing our flexibility in finding solutions to real time market challenges and creating P3 structures that allow important infrastructure projects to move forward,” said Deborah Brown, senior vice president and managing director for project development at WSP. “Our commitment to innovation and ability to respond effectively to changing circumstances have established us as a trusted partner in delivering successful P3 projects that meet the evolving needs of our clients and address the dynamic challenges of today's environment.”
In addition to Perrin and Brown, the awardees include Jodie Misiak, Mark Polston, Bryce Little, Kenneth Beehler, Neil Callahan, Jenifer Ross-Amato, Brian Shell and WSP’s entire Alternative Delivery Advisory team.
The awards are presented annually by P3 Bulletin, a publication that provides a platform to learn about the projects, partners and policies that will shape the transport, social and utility infrastructure sectors.
