NEW YORK — Chris Villari, PMP, joined WSP, a leading engineering, environment and professional services firm, as communications and public involvement managing director for the firm’s Advisory and Planning business in the U.S.
As a senior vice president, Villari is responsible for driving growth for the firm’s public and private clients in energy, buildings, water, sustainability and transportation. He is based in New York.
Villari leads WSP’s communications and public involvement team comprised of more than 100 professionals across the U.S. The team provides innovative and inclusive communication and public involvement solutions, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enable communities and stakeholders to actively engage in the development of equitable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure projects. In his new role, Villari oversees project delivery, business line operations and performance metrics.

Prior to joining WSP, Villari led the corporate brand function at a global engineering, procurement and construction firm. His previous experience included serving as North American head of communications for a professional services firm, regional head of communications for a global construction and development company, and as director of capital program outreach for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
Villari is a graduate of Manhattan College with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in environmental engineering. He served as an advisory board member of the Design Thinking Program at the Luben School of Business at Pace University; and was a member of the Forbes Communication Council, serving as a subject matter expert on editorial content aimed at corporate communications. In 2018 he was recognized on City & State’s Responsible 100 list.
