Mr. Carlson has 30 years of experience performing aquatic toxicity tests and managing toxicity monitoring programs for several different laboratories. In 2017, Steve helped build and open the current WSP toxicity testing laboratory under his management and operation. At the start of 2018, the new WSP laboratory received certification under California’s Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP).
Steve has been managing the day-to-day operation of the lab and using his knowledge and experience to help support various clients with their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, regulatory and reporting requirements, logistics and monitoring programs, and other toxicity-related and consulting needs. Steve is well versed in all aspects of performing aquatic toxicity tests and has helped support hundreds of various clients in the industrial, commercial, and municipal sectors with their NPDES permits and compliance testing needs. In 2024, Steve was promoted to the Lab Director position.
