Architect
Stairs – Soft reflected light from wall washing techniques minimized the need for light poles; strategic vertical illumination increased one’s perception of brightness.
Residential Lounge - Cast concrete ceilings required successful multi-system clash coordination to maintain our recessed LED downlight locations embedded within the slab.
Entrance – We created a soft visual transparency, minimizing the need for extra security lighting; our luminaire placements illuminated occupant faces to reinforce a sense of safety.
Outside – Special pole mounted adjustable accent luminaires with dimmable control helped tune illumination levels during outdoor large-scale student building events.
Courtyard - Reinforcing the architectural design, indirect light was captured within structural design elements to minimize light pollution into the night sky.
Kitchen Booth - Occupancy sensors and accessible dimming controls allowed students to create their own lighting scenes as they saw fit during study or play.
Common Area - Biophilic design was incorporated to support students’ connections to nature and the environment using custom configuration linear LED indirect / direct pendants.
Lounge - Simple and minimal lighting layouts that met target illumination levels also incorporated daylight responsive LED technology with local dimming control in common gathering areas.
Kitchen Couch - Apartment units for staff and families utilized dimmable LED fixtures, providing flexible, high quality, cost effective, and energy efficient lighting.
Landscape - All exterior lighting met CALGreen standards for light pollution reduction, incorporating full cutoff luminaires. Linear LED luminaries are discretely concealed in architectural details.
