As European-headquartered M&G Resins explored expanding their global operations, our team helped them navigate the federal and state permitting process for a proposed greenfield chemical plant in the Port of Corpus Christi, Texas, as well as the first industrial desalination facility in the state.
Water desalination facility
Our team provided comprehensive environmental permitting — air quality, natural and cultural resources, wetland delineation and more. We ensured that the proposed purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant in an attainment area received all necessary authorizations for construction.
After exploring several water supply options, the client decided to install an onsite water desalination facility to provide potable water to the plant. Our team provided hydraulic modeling to obtain the required intake and discharge permits. Our efforts secured a permit for a desalination facility for industrial water— the first of its kind in Texas.
