In service of the many medical facilities it operates worldwide for service members, the NAVFAC indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for medical design projects covers hospitals, dental clinics, medical clinics, veterinary clinics, modernization projects, military construction projects and medical facilities worldwide. A joint venture of HKS and WSP was awarded this IDIQ as the sole source provider.
The largest task order under the IDIQ is a new facility for the Uniformed Services University at Walter Reed Medical Center, a new 478,000 square foot facility that will provide the Navy with a new education and research facility for training personnel. The joint venture’s wide-ranging expertise provides NAVFAC with a uniquely integrated approach to providing the necessary consultation for this complex project, which includes Bio-Safety Level (BSL)-3 laboratories and will be designed to meet LEED certification.
