This capital improvement program will be completed in phases, and the airport will maintain its existing gate count throughout the project's duration. The program provides for a complete replacement of the original airport, including a central terminal and two concourses. The associated airfield, fueling area, access roadways, central utility plant, parking garage and rental car facilities will support the redevelopment of the new airport. The new terminal and concourses will comprise of more than 2,600,000 square feet (SF) and provide seventy-seven domestic gates, six international contact gates and nine hardstand/RON gates. The parking garage, rental car QTA/RSS and ancillary facilities include an additional 2,400,000 SF. Phase 4 is currently in design, which will add an additional sixteen gates.
WSP provides Program Management Support to the Airport in all areas of design management and construction project delivery, airfield paving/fueling project management, baggage handling/airport systems design and installation management, landside/airside utilities field engineering, cost estimation/change management, and project invoicing. Phase 1 opened in September 2020 with Phase 2 being complete in 2023. Phase 3 will begin in 2025 and Phase 4 in 2027 (pending approval).
