Our team created future development alternatives and detailed phasing plans that will enhance the overall passenger experience and will be cost-effective. The project team analyzed the complete airport experience, including landside access, terminal space programming and site selection, air space and landside access, and improved amenities to create an improved travel experience.
Multimodal Landside Access
Despite the Airport’s location close to downtown, site access and circulation are suboptimal. Comprehensive traffic and roadway analysis included traffic counts, VISSIM modeling, and transit access options. Convenient access options to and from two adjacent freeways, major local roads and on-airport circulation were considered in the alternatives analysis.
Implementation Planning
WSP included extensive implementation services to help SAT advance those projects that will need to be implemented in the near term. Included are project definition documents, preliminary engineering, detailed cost estimates, construction phasing, and the development of a NEPA strategy to avoid implementation delays.
