System dynamics modelling has been applied in a variety of contexts.
- We explored the impact of kerbside management policies on the use of shared mobility services in Australia, together with Uber Australia/New Zealand.
- In Sweden the introduction of autonomous vehicles under different conditions was analysed together with the risks it poses for public transportation.
- A wide range of scenarios of EV and CAV introduction was created to allow the Swedish Transport Administration to create traffic solutions robust under a multitude of futures.
- The extensive knowledge behind the model has also been applied independently, i.e. for the Norwegian Railway Directorate where trends critical to the railway system were identified and built into an early warning system.
In 2021, we continue developing the model in two paths. We explore the future of public transportation with focus on the post-COVID recovery phase and we evaluate the contribution of new technology towards a transport system with less climate impact.
