Environment & Sustainability

Leveraging data and predictive modelling to keep the giants of our oceans safe and thriving.

The Roy Hill Iron Ore Project involved the delivery of a new mine and its process plant, a 344-km heavy haul railway from mine to port, and a new two-berth port facility at Port Hedland.

1,600 km of cross-border transmission lines supporting reliable electricity exchange across West Africa.

Various public and private utilities have been proposing high-voltage transmission improvements, including the regional system provider in the US Pacific Northwest, the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).

As a global leader in energy technologies, Schneider Electric places sustainability at the core of its business strategy. WSP supported Schneider Electric in the delivery of its industrial decarbonization programme in Poland, including energy audits based on the client’s global decarbonization strategy and the development of projects enabling the implementation of low-carbon technical solutions.

WSP is working with pioneering organizations who have validated science-based targets in place and are now ready to put them into action, embedding nature into business strategy, risk management and operational decision-making. The approach is designed to help firms translate nature ambition into measurable action across the seafood sector and beyond.

Helsinki’s Kruunuvuori Bridge, designed by WSP in Finland, is one of the world’s longest bridges solely for public transport, pedestrians and cyclists.

When Bike Share Toronto wanted to expand its network, they looked to WSP for help. Learn how WSP was a key resource in delivering this critical program.

Through a partnership with WSP, Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) is exploiting the latest sensor-based technology to build its resilience to the effects of climate change, including mitigating flood risk with future-ready drains.

The product of our research and development, Floodly uses machine learning methods to predict river levels and predict flood risk using only precipitation data. Floodly’s rapid predictions complement traditional hydraulic modelling, which can be slower and more costly to apply. It is also challenging in complex urban catchments.

Exploring new forms of collaboration to promote sustainable development in one of the planet’s most important ecosystems.

WSP provided strategic planning and environmental services to support the Hawthorndale Care Village through a complex consenting process, enabling the project to progress confidently within New Zealand’s regulatory framework.
