WSP lighting design experts created a conceptual design for the exterior lighting that was more cost effective and more compatible with the historic exterior than the original plan.

The station was designed with seating that was more comfortable and classical than standard Amtrak waiting-area seats, featuring a sculpted wood design and blue cushioning that harkens to rail’s grand history.

Moynihan Train Hall, the busiest transit facility in the Western Hemisphere, is located adjacent to Madison Square Garden and a few blocks from the Empire State Building.
