SAN FRANCISCO — WSP, a leading engineering, environment and professional services firm, is strengthening its commitment to downtown San Francisco with a new lease that reflects the company’s goals for workplace culture and world-class city development.
WSP leased 11,425 square feet of downtown office space at 71 Stevenson St. The 23-story, Class A building is owned by F1 Stevenson, LLC, and based in San Francisco’s South Financial District. The lease length is seven years and WSP employees are scheduled to begin occupancy in March 2025. The new office space will accommodate 150 employees and allow room for future expansion and growth.
Compared to the 26,169 square feet of WSP’s current San Francisco office space, this new office is rightsized for the firm’s hybrid work environment, creating a reduced carbon footprint. It has larger conference rooms for hosting clients and events and more natural light exposure, combined with an innovative lighting system that showcases the expertise of WSP lighting designers.
The new location also supports the different ways that employees are currently commuting to the office, whether it’s by bicycle, car, train or the Bay Area Rapid Transit system.
“We want to continue to actively contribute to San Francisco’s economic vitality, and that means being right there in the downtown urban center to support our clients,” said Shalonda Baldwin, senior vice president and Transportation business line leader for Northern California at WSP. “With our people being part of the fabric of this city, they’re able to come into an incredible office and design resilient, eco-friendly, complex projects that will help make this city Future Ready®.”
“San Francisco has been one of our flagship offices since 1989,” added Anna Gransmark, assistant vice president, director of real estate at WSP. “For this new space, our goal was to incorporate local, Bay-area architecture into the design, as well as requests for improving employees’ in-office experience, such as natural lighting and accessibility by multiple modes of transit to the building.”
WSP has partnered with San Francisco stakeholders for critical projects over the years, including the new Central Subway line, the reconstruction of San Francisco International Airport’s Harvey Milk Terminal 1, the Salesforce Tower and Transit Center, the 181 Fremont mixed-use tower and Presidio Parkway.
The firm is hiring engineers and professional staff in the Bay area and throughout California to work on high-profile projects. For details, visit https://www.wsp.com/en-us/careers/job-opportunities.
