A charred beetle-kill pine greets visitors in the lobby where clean lighting solutions focus attention on the architecture.

Budget constraints focused the design on creating unique solutions for low cost, such as linear fluorescent wrap around strips above the mesh ceilings. Multiple lighting packages were evaluated to provide maximum cost effectiveness without sacrificing design intent.

The mezzanine design lounge and stadium seating stairs feature a pickup stick LED cluster chandelier which mimics an art sculpture in the outdoor plaza beyond. Dimmable controls are concealed on the ground floor for use in office meetings and evening events.

Casual work zones provide users with alternative lighting solutions. Perimeter breakout lighting conceals extruded LED fixtures suspended in slots between red ceiling panels for minimal visual clutter.

The main open office employs photocell controlled linear 3500K LED direct/indirect pendants with a feature pinup wall continuously illuminated to balance window brightness. Open office connected load is 0.5w/sf including pinup wall.

The pinup wall uses a continuous LED fixture that is over 100 feet long, with a trimless wood installation. The wall encourages all staff to experience work in progress.

A sense of whimsy is inserted into the break room using decorative pendants suspended out of an uplit break in the ceiling. Just outside the break room is a library employing dynamic white fixtures to view material samples under varying conditions.

The overall connected load is 0.65w/sf, achieved through predominantly LED fixtures, lower ambient light level targets, and focused light accents - such as in the corridor shown above. Daylight harvesting, task tuning and vacancy sensors along with preset and manual dimming in collaboration areas reduce operational usage.
