Rutgers Cancer Institute partnered with RWJBarnabas Health, New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive academic healthcare system, to create a local, integrated cancer care center for residents of New Jersey. The new Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, in New Brunswick, offers world-class, patient-centric care in a state-of-the-art 520,000 SF pavilion — New Jersey’s first free-standing cancer hospital.
Connected to research
Research is a core pillar of Rutgers Cancer Institute. The 12-story cancer pavilion will focus on translational research, featuring stem cell and molecular biology research laboratories, enabling bench-to-bedside care between physicians and cancer patients — fitting for the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The new building connects to the existing legacy building via walkways elevated above a busy municipal road.
