To protect employees' health and hygiene, the facilities offer frequent handwash sinks. In the livestock process areas, there’s over 100 handwash sinks which use sterilizers in high-temperature water. The facility's design also prioritizes employee safety with parking in front of the building so that in winter, employees don’t have to walk long distances on snow covered paths.
Workspaces are designed to alleviate discomfort in physically demanding roles by featuring oversized platforms, ample equipment space, skylights for natural light and a single-level layout to eliminate the need to climb stairs while handling tools. Further, employee welfare areas are strategically placed near workspaces to maximize break time.
The building’s utility basements are designed to eliminate contamination risks from overhead pipes. Separate staff entrances, welfare areas and air make-up units for harvest and fabrication areas further limit cross-contamination.
For livestock care, office spaces overlook holding pens to ensure constant oversight. For transparency, each pen is equipped with viewing platforms and catwalks for easy inspector access. With these measures, the client ensures animals receive humane care through optimal visibility and easy access.
