A layered lighting approach draws guests in and provides new experiences throughout. Solutions are highly detailed with multiple custom luminaires to reflect the hotel, locale, and rich environment.
The lighting supports a sense of privacy and calm for guests. Through the screened library window, the porte cochere acrylic landscape globes sparkle between uplit trees.
The custom silver-dip entry chandelier cluster seen on the right creates a wow moment as guests first arrive. Both budget and schedule were critical, requiring a number of VE meetings to both package and distill the concepts to their essence.
The library is partitioned from the lobby by an illuminated two-sided shelf. To minimize equipment cost, raw 3000K LED tape is mounted above or below the center dividers to edge light white acrylic center panels.
The lobby size and atrium above presented challenges to introduce dimming control. Wireless bridges were utilized to jump control signals to each area before hardwiring to fixtures.
LED spotlights illuminate the bar ‘roof’ concealed on the 10th floor, accessible using regular ladders. The bottle stack is internally illuminated and concealed behind glowing frosted acrylic panels during the day which open upwards during evening service.
The elevator lobby provides the final wow moment before users depart the lobby for their rooms. All new fixtures use LED technology, requiring multiple mockups for exposed decorative luminaires.
A keyboard key world map is grazed with light above the laptop touchdown station.
The overhead view was an important consideration as guests look down from the corridors above.
