House Bill 4422 required the Texas Department of Transportation to conduct a comprehensive study into cross-border security, public safety, and the condition and capacity of transportation infrastructure.
The initiative aimed to better understand the impact of truck movement on border communities and statewide logistics.
To support this mandate, we used DeepView Freight tools to warehouse and process terabytes of truck GPS data sourced from INRIX.
By analyzing this high-volume dataset, we mapped and described the routes, stops, staging areas and final destinations of trucks crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
The findings helped inform strategic planning, resource allocation and technology deployments to enhance safety and efficiency in Texas’s border regions and beyond.
