WSP has a long-standing track record in all project delivery structures (PPP, JVs, SPVs, and consortiums), preparing effective contract documents, carefully assessing business risks and ensuring that projects are commercially focused at the outset as well as throughout the projects’ lifecycles.
WSP was appointed in 2007 as Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM) delivery partner for the Metrolink extension and enhancement programme. The Metrolink network has already tripled in size, with nearly 60 km of new tramway now operating. Our services entail the full integration and cohabitation of our team with TfGM and includes comprehensive engineering management, programme management, commercial management, project controls and stakeholder engagement services. The project is widely recognised as a success story, receiving numerous awards: notably the National Transport Awards special award for “Outstanding Performance”. Our role has recently been extended into 2017 to deliver the Metrolink Second City Crossing, which is now under construction, and the new Trafford Park Line that would extend our tenure into 2019. WSP in Africa also has a full commercial team on site at Medupi power station.
