WSP's Matt Pinder Honoured by Transportation Association of Canada

Pinder is the Winner of the 2022 TAC Young Transportation Professional Award.

Matt Pinder, a Transportation Engineer for WSP Canada, has been recognized by the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) as the winner of the 2022 TAC Young Transportation Professional Award.

The annual award “…recognizes an employee of a TAC member organization who has made outstanding contributions to the transportation sector, and who is not more than 35 years old on December 31 in the year of the award.” It is one of five annual awards given by TAC in recognition of individual excellence in both professional and volunteer capacities.

 

Matt has been a valuable member of our active transportation team since joining our team just over a year ago. I’m very proud of what Matt has accomplished already in his young career, and am happy to see him recognized with this well-deserved award.

 

Pinder has been actively involved in the development of active transportation designs and guidelines for communities across Ontario, including Ottawa’s Protected Intersection Design Guide which received the 2022 TAC Mobility Achievement Award. He was also a key member of the team that authored the updated version of the Ontario Traffic Manual Book 18: Cycling Facilities. Outside of his work, Matt writes a popular transportation blog called Beyond the Automobile, and is an active member of TAC’s Mobility Council and the Active Transportation Integrated Committee.

Pinder will officially receive his award at the 2022 Transportation Association of Canada Conference and Exhibition, set to take place October 2-5 at the Edmonton Convention Centre.
