Angus English Receives Highest Honour from Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia

Water leader accepts McLachlan Award for Outstanding Achievement.

Angus English, Vice President for Water and Wastewater at WSP in Canada, has been recognized with the McLachlan Award for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering from Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC). The honour was received at EGBC’s awards gala, which took place in Whistler on October 27th as part of the organization’s annual conference.

The annual award is given by the organization to “…a recognized leader who has made significant professional and technical achievements to professional engineering and has demonstrated substantial volunteer service, preferably to Engineers and Geoscientists BC. The candidate has exhibited concern for public welfare that characterizes the profession at its best. The candidate should be actively engaged in the practice of professional engineering in BC.”

English has spent 40 years serving the Canadian engineering sector, including over eight years at WSP, with nearly 30 years of his career based in British Columbia. He has led teams in the community infrastructure, water and wastewater, and transportation and infrastructure sectors, creating assets to serve people from across Canada. He has also been active in giving back to the community, serving as a Campaign Cabinet Member for the United Way of British Columbia since 2016, including a term as Campaign Chair in 2020-2021, spending more than five years on the Board of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of B.C. (ACEC-BC) which included a term as President in 2018-2019, and serving on the Board of the EGBC Foundation since 2020.
