WSP in Canada Welcomes Amir Abd El Halim as New Regional Leader

Industry veteran will lead Ontario, Atlantic operations.

Amir Abd El Halim

WSP in Canada is happy to announce the hiring of Amir Abd El Halim as the new Regional Leader for the Ontario and Atlantic region.

In his role, Amir will focus on fostering collaboration between WSP’s sectors and regions to drive growth and deliver services to our clients with an innovative mindset and the highest standards of health and safety and ethics. He will work alongside Sebastien Fecteau in the Quebec Region and Peter Hatcher in the Western Region and Territories.

Amir brings a wealth of industry experience that will be invaluable for leading our strategic direction in the Ontario and Atlantic markets. I am excited to work alongside Amir as we strive to create the sustainable, Future Ready solutions that are needed to help Canada progress towards a net zero future.

With more than 20 years working in the North American engineering consulting space, Amir has provided executive leadership to large multi-disciplinary businesses. He has a proven track record in growing businesses, driving change, delivering results and, most importantly, putting people first. Most recently, he was the SVP of Operations (Ontario) for Englobe, following a 17-year career at Stantec, having started as an Engineer in Training and progressing up to the Vice-President and Regional Leader for Ontario, a position which he held until 2021.

Mr. Abd El Halim holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental) and a Master’s of Civil Engineering (Transportation) from Carleton University, as well as a PhD in Civil Engineering (Infrastructure Management) from the University of Waterloo.
