Dr. Charles Goss Honoured with AWWA Award of Merit

Annual awards recognize the best in the North American water sector.

July 26, 2024 - Canada

Dr. Charles Goss, Team Lead, Treatment and Facilities for WSP in Canada (WSP) has been recognized by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) with an Award of Merit. The award was presented at the AWWA’s 2024 Annual Conference and Expo (ACE24), held June 10-13 in Anaheim, California.

This recognition is given out each year by the AWWA as “… an award of achievement to those outside the water profession who have demonstrated outstanding service in support of the principles of AWWA in providing better water for people.”

Dr. Goss has been involved with some of WSP’s most challenging projects in the water sector, including working with team members to restore clean water service in Iqaluit, and creating a raw water solution for the Attawapiskat First Nation. Charles’ expert knowledge of chemistry has been instrumental in responding to several water emergencies where fuel products were found in the drinking water supply.

“Charles has been an invaluable member of our team for more than six years, providing us with the expertise needed to identify, source and resolve water contamination issues in communities across Canada,” said Justin Rak-Banville, Director of Water and Wastewater, Treatment and Facilities, for WSP in Western Canada. “I’m proud to see him receive this well-deserved honour from the AWWA.”
